Good morning. Miners at Kellingley Colliery have vowed to do everything they can to keep the threatened pit open. Union officials and workers held their first formal meeting last night since it emerged that the colliery, on the border of North and West Yorkshire, faces closure. UK Coal is battling to stave off insolvency. The firm says a strong pound means it has lost out to cheaper imported coal, especially from the US, where the boom in shale gas has forced American coal miners to find new markets in Europe.
