Good morning! Okay two movies to see and to watch for in the Oscar race this year. One I saw awhile back and one recently. They are Birdman and Whiplash respectively. Birdman, a tour de force performance by Michael Keaton. If he was retired one can see why this script called to him, thankfully, off his roost. Everyone in this stellar cast is wonderful. Edward Nortons acting prowess is evident, in fact for anyone studying acting, I can imagine it as a master class. Other standouts are Naomi Watts and Zach Galifinakis. But maybe one of my favorite actors is Emma Stone. Ive loved her in everything shes done. Go see Birdman. The second film is Whiplash. JK Simmons and Miles Teller are both astonishing. JK Simmons in particular. Hes a veteran character actor who youll know from film, TV, and commercials. My own personal claim to near fame is that I ate lunch next to his table at a Japanese restaurant in Burbank :) Go see Whiplash. Lets see how these folks fare at the Oscars and the other plethora of awards this season.
