Good morning Peeps!!! Another joyous day off yesterday...I could get used to having a day off every week. Took a road trip to St. Michaels. At 10:00 in the morning on a Wednesday almost every shop was open. There must have been 30 to 40 visitors walking around already. One shop with a for Rent sign and no burnt out or vacant buildings. One building on the way into town was under remodeling. The Maritime museum parking lot was fillied; as were the other two that I know about. I went into some of the shops. Everyone had a friendly greeting; I explained that I had a shop in Cambridge and was just visiting for the day. They could not have been more accommodating to my questions and seemed happy that I was there just looking. Now I was only on the main drag but...I did not see one vagrant, no one asking me for change, no store front churches, no charity shops, no counciling centers and the place was clean. We need to send a contingency of business people, chamber members and local officials up there to discover what it is that they are doing to inhance their success. I am certain that they would gladly share their knowledge and inspiration with us. Berlin as well. This could only help us be more sucessful, combat some of our challenges and make this a better place to live and work. It was an enjoyable, enlighting and powerful day. Everyone have a great day.
