Good morning RAOK community .... So yesterday while at family dollar me and my wife were picking up a few things for the back to school drive. I had over heard in the next isle a child fussing a bit and his mother say, I told you mommy dont have the money honey he must have been about 9 years old so as I rounded the corner I seen him putting a pair of 8.00 shoes back in the box with a look of defeat on his face. Naturally I looked down and seen the state of his current shoes and the tear ducts filled right up. We made eye contact and I watched him break it quickly and kinda slump away.... I first thought was there is no way this child will not have these 8.00 shoes. So I pulled 20.00 bill out and grabbed the shoes headed towards the counter where the mother had a small amount of groceries and handed him the shoes and the 20.00. The look on his face and his mothers made me really choke up, I told them its from his friends and extended family he didnt know he has..... I spoke with the mother Jessica for a moment after hugs told her about our page and invited her to join it..... She let me know when she gets her tax money next year shell pay me back. Which I told her just pay it forward someday... I finished my shopping with my wife, exited the store and those little boys old shoes where on the top of the heap of trash coming out the trash can. I felt so lucky to have found him, I hate it that we cant help 1000 kids..... Sometimes I lay in bed and it honestly kills me to think how many Jessicas are out there heart broken they cant buy their babies the things they need to enter the new school year .... We have to stay on course, even one note book makes a difference. Lets bless these children and quit telling me your sorry you can only help so little , your little is someones everything and you have nothing to be ashamed of..... Yesterday I found a bag of change on my desk just sitting there and I have a strong feeling after look good look at it for awhile ( 8.00 and some change ) it was a childs piggy bank money they donated for back to school supplies !! We need you, one new pair of shoes, a few .15 note books.... Anything helps and thank you... It starts here now!!
