Good morning Saskatoon! Today in 2007, Barbara West Dainton, believed to be the second last survivor from the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, died in Camborne, England, at age 96. (Millvina Dean, the last survivor, died at age 97 in Southampton, England on May 31, 2009.) In 2008, former Saskatchewan premier Lorne Calvert, who served from 2001 to 2007, announced his intention to resign as leader of the provincial NDP. In 2008, Jeanette Heller, a dancer with the original Rockettes in the 30s in New York, died in Toronto at age 97.
