Good morning Taft and WomadNZ I have had no reply in response to my letter regarding shell oils sponsorship of WomadNZ. Is this how a professional business normally treats enquiries into its conduct? In fact I have been blocked on both your twitter and facebook accounts which just strengthens my resolve to continue my protest against your unethical sponsor. I have a right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest under a democracy right? Are you aware of the numerous human rights and environmental abuses shell perpetrates in Africa or are you simply happy to turn a blind eye to this. Has this issue ever been raised with you African artists. Even the artists you have booked Flymypretties and Antibalis have retweeted my protest, are you going to ignore them as well. Antibalis even have a song dirty money perhaps you should meditate on that before your next course of action in terms of funding. You have just started your campaign for the festival in 2014 and I wish you all the best in terms of the Production and Music I am a New Zealand by birth of mixed global ethnicities and also a musician, so I regard myself as a world musician right here on your very doorstep and fully support the artistic concept behind Womad. In good faith though I cannot sit back silently and let you run a festival with Shell Oil as your sponsor. In fact Im shocked most people just blindly accept the status quo and think nothing of it, such it the reality of the human condition.
