Good morning! The Big Stars Third concert last night was amazing, one of those ones you just dont want to ever end. Im still pinching myself - did it really happen? Chris Stamey and Ken Stringfellow cant be thanked enough for putting this thing together. It was only the seventh time theyve done this anywhere in the world (four times in the U.S. and three in Europe) so it was a rare privilege indeed. The Sydney Festival also have to be commended for making it happen. Apart from being dedicated fans of Alex Chilton, Chris and Ken are also amazing artists in their own right and while theyre here in Australia they will be doing a very limited run of solo shows together. Tonight theyll be at the Astor Lounge in Mt. Lawley (W.A.), then they play Adelaide on Sunday at the Grace Emily Hotel, before heading to Melbourne for two more shows (Tues: Northcote Social Club, Wed: Caravan Club) followed by Brisbane (Thurs: Black Bear Lodge), before wrapping up back in Sydney again (Fri: Clarendon Guest House, Katoomba, Sat: Petersham Bowling Club). Phew! What a couple of troupers! Ill definitely be at the Petersham Bowlo show next Saturday night. I wouldnt miss it for quids! Dave
