Good morning all An unfinished esoteric but most exciting filming and climbing project fell neatly into place in a delightfully random way in late September when I found myself stood on the stunning Broadhaven Beach in Pembroke. A number of worthy recruits to the cause assembled to head out to the prominent and most alluring Church Rock sea stack, situated about 400 metres offshore. I climbed on this stack earlier in the year, but always vowed to go back as I was convinced there was a new route or 2 to be mopped up. So with an armada of varying, incongruous vessels including 3 people on a 2 seat sit-on kayak and my £11.99 Explorer 2 dinghy from Amazon, we set sail into the sea... Remarkably and much to our suprise Church Rock was duly reached and no-one drowned, drifted half-way to America or required rescuing by a Sea King taxi. Consequently most of the recorded routes were climbed including the photogenic crag classic VS called Man Underboard which we duly filmed before putting up 3 new routes so a grand day out was had by all. Anyway all constructive feedback or comments welcome and hopefully it will inspire a few folks to visit this beautiful area, get their water wings on, blow up their inflatables and tally forth into the sea!
