Good morning all, In the light of rising security challenges and of course the fact that the festive seasons is around the corner, I wish to bring to your attention some notorious dark spots across the Lagos metropolis. We hope you find this information useful. Dark spots in security terms means places that have been identified as potential robbery attack spots and must be avoided if possible or one must be at the alert when passing through these areas. Some of the dark spots are on Mile 2-Badagry Expressway and Super bus stop on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, where gang robbery and other violent crimes have become the order of the day; Five Star bus stop; Apongbon under bridge Lagos Island, and Osborne road leading to Ikoyi. Kidnapping for ransom and ritual killing is also rising at Super bus stop from dusk to dawn. Other abandoned dark spots are on Igando road, Anthony-Gbagada-UPS axis, Car Wash bus stop and Oworonsoki of the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway, Fadeyi bus stop and Obanikoro area along Ikorodu road. Pedestrians are usually scared at night of Liverpool Bridge and Creek road in Apapa. In Ikeja, Billingsway and the road to the Governor’s Office from Seven-Up Bottling Company are other dreaded spots, especially for workers who close late. In Lekki axis, ajah bus stop has consistently remained a dark spot, where hoodlums and other criminals hang around unhindered. NOTE: · Be very vigilant whenever you find yourself around the above mentioned dark spots and others you know but not captured here. · Disseminate this information to all your family members, friends and loved ones to be cautious always especially as we are in the ‘EMBER’ months where the rate of crime and criminal activities rises astronomically. · Ensure you have relevant emergency numbers at your disposal. These numbers will be helpful when you notice a raid and you are in a safe position to make a call.
