Good morning all. It is early on Sunday morning, and I am - TopicsExpress

Good morning all. It is early on Sunday morning, and I am beginning my third day in the hospital trying to get pain under control from the cancer I have heading into the bones of my pelvis. I started radiation last week, which led to the pain skyrocketing to the point of not being able to walk. It literally brought me to my knees. My mother has graciously stayed with me at Duane and Kevins house until we headed to the hospital early on Friday. Bill and Kirsten headed over then, and Kirsten, bless her, very uncomfortably spent the night in a sort-of cushiony chair that could not be fully declined because the room is too little for that. Yesterday, I tried my best but was just a wreck by the end of the night, questioning everything about myself. So today, if youve read through this very long message from me, I ask you to please tell me how youre going to lift yourselves up today, give me the Lords guidance on where to start, and help me see more light. I am searching, just as you do, for my meaning here. I know the Lord has one for all of us. I just want you to rejoice in yourselves today, in your family and friends, and know that I do the same but help me be better and let this river of tears stop...or not if that is what God needs me to do right now. In long and short this morning, please let us help each other be lifted up, and trust in those beautiful souls that have gone before us. Tell jokes (nice ones, like the puns Philip Dallman always had while I did a clerkship in Marshfield), hold the door for someone, say please and thank-you, and tell a happy memory of someone close to you that youve lost but who now quietly watches over you. Thank you, especially if youve read all this, for any jokes, Scripture, or light you have to shine and share for yourself and others today. All of it will help more than just me. Love, always, Erika
