Good morning all. Please my thoughts these past days have been almost entirely focused on the anticipated austerity measures commenced by the Federal Government of Nigeria! It takes me back to 1982 essential commodity era of the NPN Federal Government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari! My conclusion is that Nigerian Politicians are the undoing of this great country. Now that their profligacy has taken us to this dire straits, we are now saddled with carrying the can of worms. Who can forget so soon the price of oil rising to $180/barrel during OBJ Presidency? The money OBJ administration made in 8 years was more than Nigeria made from 1900 to 1999. Yet what was the money used for. He and all the 36 State Governors were wasting and stealing the money as if it was going out of fashion. This criminal profligacy was continued by successive Governments and sorry to say, the Private Sector; and the arm chair economists were predicting growths that were purely imaginary and funded by corruption! Now that the chicken has come home to roost, what do we all do collectively? Pull down our pants, oil our scented butts and call on these rascals to come and bugger our arseholes?
