Good morning and Happy Sunday. Ive got a Sunday morning story. Before I start the story, I will say that its not all the clerks fault. Yesterday, after I got home from work, we planned to go get Lloyd a new phone. He had his old one for 4 years and it was in bad shape. We decide to go to WalMart (Im not a fan of WalMart). We go back and look around at phones and I ask if they have any IPhone 6s yet. She says yes, they just got 3 in. Ok, is there a special with an upgrade, etc... She doesnt know (?). I said can you check on it? Yes, she says. Give me your information. I give her our information (3 times). She says $279.00 (whoa!!!). Lloyd and I gave each other the look, and said, ok. So she enters all the information and cant get the UPC, and some other # she needed to put into the system. Another person comes to help her. He tells her that the reason it wont go thru is because she has the incorrect GB listed. Yep, you guessed it. We have to do it all over again. She finally gets all the information in for the second time, and we wait. Then, she gets on the phone with someone at Verizon, and now is on hold. Theyre IMing her over the computer. They tell her that they have to have a 3-way conversation with me regarding this . Now, Im a patient and understanding person. Weve already been there for over an hour, trying to get a phone, and Lloyd is definitely not a patient person. Hes pissed off. I looked at the girl and I said you send a message back and you tell whomever that is, that theyve got 15 minutes to straighten this out She does, and Bam!!! Done. Ok, we think everything is good. We tell her again that we want everything transferred (contacts, photos, etc.)ha, so funny that we would ask for something like that. The contract spits out and we sign. Heres where it gets even worse: so we want her to put a screen cover on the phone. Shes already spotted it up. She first wipes it with a cloth, then her finger, then her sleeve. She puts the cover on, and its full of air bubbles. Now Im pissed off. I show it to her. Also, we ask about the transfer. She tells us that our old phone has a different number now and we can just text them(what???) I check and of course, shes wrong. Lloyd is boiling mad. Im mad. I tell her to call Verizon. In the meantime, I call Verizon myself because now I dont believe anything she says. They tell me what we can do to transfer pictures and contacts. I walk back to talk to her and shes telling Lloyd something else thats wrong. I grabbed outer stuff and we left. Lesson learned. When in need of a new phone, go to the Verizon Store. Believe me, Im not mad at the girl, Im mad at WalMart for not properly training their employees who work in specially departments. This girl had very little knowledge and kept saying that the computer system was new. This must be what they tell all their employees to say when theres a problem, because Ive heard of it before. Anyway, the phone is home. Lloyd and I transferred his contacts and we will get his pictures back. Sorry its so long, but it definitely was an evening we wont forget. I wish you all a great day. Peace
