Good morning and welcome to another “Monday Matter’s” with Master Lewis Let’s study some History of the Martial Arts over the next few weeks-get ready to learn some good stuff. The martial arts are codified systems and traditions of combat practices, which are practiced for a variety of reason: self-defense, competition, physical health and fitness, entertainment, as well as mental, physical, and spiritual development. The term martial arts has become heavily associated with the fighting arts of eastern Asia, it was originally used in regard to the combat systems of Europe as early as the 1950s. There must be a balance between fitness and character, as both are essential in the overall health of a child. The martial arts at 5280 Karate Academy we will continue to focus on fitness, character, awareness, self-Esteem, Self Discipline, Self Confidence, Perseverance, Focus, Respect, Modesty, Concentration, Improve Health, and most of all Integrity. Our goal through the martial arts is to equip our students can succeed in life. TTFN—see you next week.
