Good morning everybody. Time to once again make the public aware - TopicsExpress

Good morning everybody. Time to once again make the public aware about a situation. EJ OYER..landlord from Hornell. Was in a tough spot so my family and I rented off him at 103 1/2 River St. We were warned and took the risk..shame on us. We signed a 1 year lease and tried to make the best of it. He charged 625 a month for a small 3 bedroom apartment.. winter months are horrible with all the drafts. It was far from efficient. The downstairs neighbors would smoke pot and it would come thru our floors. Broken window he swore he would fix and never did. Got shocked when turning on light switches...went thru a pack of lightbulbs a week. The list could go on. One of his workers came over and said BEFORE we moved in they noticed an electrical problem and wanted to fix it but he told them no. Another worker came over when I fell through the steps and told us that it was his 3rd time fixing them. That he told EJ the steps were separating from the house and all needed to be redone but he refuses so people keep falling thru. We were on time in full with our rent every single month.. did everything in our power to help that place out. Ripped out nasty bushes that he wanted out...filled in the huge holes in the driveway..leveled out the yard...planted grass...planted flowers..cleaned up the walkway all of that. Due to unfortunate circumstances i was late on rent ONE MONTH. He wouldnt answer my calls instead he sent a text telling me he thought it was best i moved out..so i agreed to be respectful and do it even though it wasnt a legal eviction was just a text message. In less than 7 days later he was threatening me with lawyers bc i wasnt completely out yet. He then said if we cleaned it completely we could have our deposit back. Scrubbed that place top to bottom even cleaned up outside just for him to go back on his word and keep the deposit. Hes a complete slumlord and disrespectful. He is advertising this place for rent now so as i always say.... rent at your own risk ;)
