Weather Situation A high in the Tasman Sea extends a weak high ridge of high pressure along Queenslands east coast which is expected to weaken further during the weekend. An upper level trough will move eastwards across the south of the state today and move off the east coast during Saturday morning. Forecast for the rest of Friday Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the Channel Country contracting eastwards during the day. Scattered showers and thunderstorms developing over the central and southern interior and extending into the southeast interior during the afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms extending into the far southeast during the evening. Isolated showers elsewhere about the east coast and eastern interior, more frequent about the northeast coast. Fine and mostly sunny over the northwest of the state. Moderate to fresh southeast winds about the east coast.
