Good morning, everyone! Well, that was quite a weekend! This past 6 weeks has been a daily roller coaster ride, but the ups were more frequent and powerful than the downs. Once again, I just want to thank you all, and your extended networks, for the incredible support you have shown me throughout the campaign. This was a whole new experience for me, and the kind words, compliments, testimonials and positive feedback were very humbling, and really made me feel like I was doing the right thing. Stepping into the political arena also has given me a whole new appreciation for those who put themselves out there on a daily basis. Most of us tend to surround ourselves with like-minded people that we are comfortable with, but the public eye of politics is a whole new thing! It will take some getting used to, but I welcome the challenge. I know that some people are disappointed that there wasnt more change on our board, but we have to have the attitude of looking forward, not back. We have to believe that positive change can happen, and it all starts now. As School Trustees, we have to dedicate, or re-dedicate ourselves to the challenge, and look at this next 4 years as a fresh start, a new beginning, regardless of how long one has been on the board. For myself, I anticipate a fairly steep learning curve in the beginning, but I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and the positive energy that I can bring to the new board. This is a critical time for our education system, and I urge you all to be a positive part of the process. I thank you once again for the confidence you have shown in me, and I look forward to seeing and speaking to everyone in the days, weeks, months and years ahead!!
