Good morning everyone. What a friend we have in Jesus. Did that - TopicsExpress

Good morning everyone. What a friend we have in Jesus. Did that last sentence make the light bulb pop on over your head? With Jesus as a friend we are blessed beyond comprehension. TODAY’S PRAYER Father, in the midst of today’s fast-paced society, help us slow down for fear that we miss all that You have for us. There are moments when Your creation crosses our path; a bird’s song, a new flower blooming after a dry summer, a clear view of the mountains, a child’s laughter, a friend’s greeting, a stranger’s smile; but is our mind on other things? Have we missed these moments that You have provided for our enjoyment, our renewal, or our opportunity? Have we neglected to recognize another’s need, an encouraging word, a helping hand? Have we missed the right time to tell someone about You when we failed to point out that it was not “luck,” but You, Lord, when a prayer was answered? Have we forgotten to encourage or express our love to a spouse, an offspring, or a friend? Help us recognize and seize these precious moments that will not come again. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Let’s eat. Jesus Blesses the Children Luke 18:15-17 One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But when the disciples saw this, they scolded the parents for bothering him. Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Many of us may have a concept of how to get into the Kingdom of God but the above scripture gives us the straight and narrow of what it takes. Are you receiving properly? That is a rhetorical question on my part. Only you and God know for sure. QUOTE OF THE DAY “Many Christians estimate difficulty in the light of their own resources, and thus they attempt very little and they always fail. All giants have been weak men who did great things for God because they reckoned on His power and presence to be with them.”
