Good morning everyone, here is your state forecast for the 12th of June 2013, courtesy of the BOM. ~ Luke ================================= Weather Situation A high pressure system [1023 hPa] over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly east with a weakening ridge over eastern Queensland and a generally moist SE to NE airflow. A strong upper trough over eastern South Australia is expected to move across southern Queensland during Wednesday, with increasing rain areas ahead of it over southern and southeastern Queensland. A low [1007 hPa] over eastern South Australia is expected to move east across New South Wales during today, with the associated surface trough also moving across southern Queensland. The surface trough will lie from the southern Gulf coast to the western Darling Downs by late Wednesday night. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Cloudy with patchy rain and gusty thunderstorms over the southwest and southern interior, contracting east during the day, though some cloud with light showers or drizzle is likely to persist over the Channel Country in the afternoon and evening. Cloudy with showers, areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms over central and southeast districts increasing during the day. Moderate to locally heavy falls developing in southeast districts. Cloudy with isolated to scattered showers and morning drizzle areas over the eastern tropics and northern interior. Fine and mostly sunny over the northwest. Morning fog areas in the east. Moderate NE to NW winds in the southeast, freshening in the afternoon and evening. Moderate to fresh E to SE winds along the tropical coast, shifting moderate SE to NE elsewhere ahead of a cooler and gusty W to SW change spreading across the west and southern interior.
