Good morning fans! Its an early one, or a late one in my case. As you probably noticed, I added a lot of photos and albums last night. We still have many more to add with a lot more teams. I want to share a little something this morning that might not seem like a big deal to anyone but Ill explain why it is. Yesterday, we had a washer and dryer donated for the rescue. The catch was, the washer was broken but who was I to argue with free? I figured SURELY with all these men around, someone could fix my washer. You know who ended up fixing the washer at 4 am this morning? Thatd be yours truly. With nothing more than a screw driver and common sense, I fixed the washing machine. Whats the big deal you ask? Well, I couldve let it be. I couldve waited days for someone else to try to fix it. During that time, I couldve let more blankets and towels and beds pile up while waiting for help. Instead, I couldnt sleep until it was going to work so I got up and made it happen despite a flooded floor, lots of wet towels and some wet clothes. The washer, in a lot of ways, shows how we do things here. We dont sit back and let things happen. We dont wait for life to give us an easy fix, not for dogs and not for people. We figure out what we need to achieve, and we do what we need to do to make it happen. I have been stubborn all my life. My mother, and my ex husband, Im sure can give many lectures on how determined I am when I want something and how I will not let it rest until I get it. That is why, day after day, I get up and I save dogs and I train those who need dogs. I want this. I want THIS to succeed. I want to give people an alternative to taking the easy way and being proud of doing something you worked to achieve. No matter what stands in our way, and there is a LOT, I want to not be able to say I did this but instead we did this and if some days Im the only one who believes in it, thats okay because Ill keep pushing until EVERYONE believes in it. The easiest thing in the world to do is sit back and just give up. The hardest thing is to keep pushing when it feels like something is never going to happen. Today, our washing machine is getting our Veterans and dogs fundraisers to goal. I could sit back and make a few posts and hope itd happen OR I can SHOW you the difference these dogs are making in peoples lives. If the inspirational message isnt worth the price of a soda, then maybe the mental image of me trying to stuff my big butt behind a washer, half delirious at 4 am, while wading through a washer drum full of water on my floor is. =) Oh and may I add, while fighting off a 164 lb mastiff who thought the water was put there just for him to play in. My challenge for all of you this morning is to ask yourself: What is my washing machine today? When youve done that, decide what youre going to do to fix it. Then do that. I want to see you be brave ;) And if you can happen to spare that soda for our brave men and women in uniform and their families, please do. The link is in the first comment. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
