Good morning friends! I am taking my visiting friends from China - Sister Betty and her daughter, Mary, back to Newark Airport to go back to China. They both enjoyed Pilgrim Camp very much, and were very blessed by God there. Mary hopes to work there in the future. Pray for Gods blessing as they travel and back in their home church with Brother David Xia - they are very precious, and the people there are very hungry to know Jesus better. Everyone enjoy your day walking with Jesus and enjoying His wonderful presence. Lord, I pray that you will bless Sister Betty and Mary as they travel back to China. Use them mightily as they go back to their home church, and lead them and guide their steps. Make them a rich blessing, so that others will get to know you better also. Use us as well to point people to Jesus, and fill us anew with your Spirit, and overflow our hearts with your great love. Help us to trust you with all of our hearts as we get to know you better each day. Help us to delight in doing your will. obeying your commands, out of committed love for you. Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart be acceptabel in your sight this day. AMEN! Matthew 24:15-28b “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. I give a disclaimer as we go through these passages - I am not an expert on in interpreting the meaning of these verses and the ones yet to come. You may disagree with what I say, and that is ok. I am just giving you what I believe in my heart, as the Lord helps me to write this. So feel free to send your comments and insights. They are always appreciated. None of us has the corner on the truth. We just ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His word to our hearts. There was such great tribulation in Jerusalem like never before, and probably never again. During the siege, the different Jewish factions fought among themselves, as they were being starved to death, and they started to kill each other and were eating the slain bodies. We cannot even imagine how bad it was. When Titus came into Jerusalem, he was amazed at the devastation, and that they had come out from the protection of their towers and fortifications. There were over 1.1 million Jews dead when Titus got into the city, as recorded by the historian, Josephus. Jesus warned against impostors, saying they were the Christ, and doing miraculous things. Some promised deliverance. Among these, Simon Magus and Dositheus, and Barcocab were so dextrous at imitating miraculous works that they deceived many. That many impostors and cheats persuaded the people to follow them to the desert, promising to show them signs and wonders done by the providence of God, is well attested. An Egyptian false prophet, mentioned by Josephus, led out into the Desert four thousand men, who were murderers, but these were all taken or destroyed by Felix. Another promised salvation to the people, if they would follow him to the Desert, and he was destroyed by Festus. Also, one Jonathan, a weaver, persuaded a number to follow him to the Desert, but he was taken and burnt alive by Vespasian. Josephus mentions a false prophet, who declared to the people in the city, that God commanded them to go up into the temple, and there they should receive the signs of deliverance. A multitude of men, women, and children, went up accordingly, but, instead of deliverance, the place was set on fire by the Romans, and 6,000 perished miserably in the flames, or in attempting to escape them. Jesus mourned over Israel, because of the judgment to come, and that they would not hear the voice of God, but rebelled against God. America is heading the same way. Let us pray for our country and for our leaders. Let us pray for revival throughout the land, and revival in our own hearts. We need Jesus more than ever. We need the Holy Spirit to make Jesus more and more real to us. We need to come to the foot of the cross with a contrite heart. Let us call out to Jesus today, and ask Him to continue to transform us into His likeness and image, and make us bright lights in this dark world, and point others to Jesus. Let us pray that He give us a passion for the lost, so that we are compelled to tell others about Jesus. Let us continue to get to know Him better, and fall in love with Him in such a way, that we become firebrands for Christ. Let us passionately fall in love with Him, that our lives point others to Jesus. Walk with the King today, and be a blessing! I leave you with the hymn, Live out thy Life Within Me. Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings! Be Thou Thyself the answer to all my questionings; Live out Thy life within me, in all things have Thy way! I, the transparent medium, Thy glory to display. The temple has been yielded, and purified of sin, Let Thy Shekinah glory now shine forth from within, And all the earth keep silence, the body henceforth be Thy silent, gentle servant, moved only as by Thee. Its members every moment held subject to Thy call, Ready to have Thee use them, or not be used at all, Held without restless longing, or strain, or stress, or fret, Or chafings at Thy dealings, or thoughts of vain regret. But restful, calm and pliant, from bend and bias free, Awaiting Thy decision, when Thou hast need of me. Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings! Be Thou the glorious answer to all my questionings.
