Good morning from Juneau Alaska where its 13 deegres Celssius and 55 deegrees farenthingy and thee is some early morning drizzle in the air. But guests are heading out to look at whales and glaciers and some will ignore nature completley and head the the shops to buy diamonds, t shirts, packets of salmon and othr Alskan delights. I guess thats the one think that I was surprised to see here in Juneau, so many jewelry shops that have branches across the Caribbean and from what the shopping expert here on the Carnival Miracle teels me their prices are just as good as in those Caribbean ports. I guess though where there are cruise ships there is money and passengers love to shop on vacation. Yep, there will be some of our male guests who had visons of James Bond style helicopter rides to a glacier but instead will be forced to do the walk in and out of shops. Some men will during their shopping trop breakdown and cry and join otheres of their species outside the jewelery shp their wives and partmners are cuurently in. They will cry together, stand in a circle and hold hands and sing Let It Go Talking of shops, why every know and then do people seem fascinated with compating Carnival to Wal-Mart? I know very little about that chain of shops except that they offer amazing value and choice and that the one in Miami close to Carnival HQ had nobody that works there that speaks English. Therefore asking where the hemerhoid cream is requires hand gestures and bending over................not something you really want to do in the middle of a shop. But seriously, I wonder why reference to this is made and to be very honest, I am not sure I realy care. I do know that the guests here this week have joined 88,000 other guests who are having a brilliant time on our ships. OK, yesterday I had no internet so today I will play catch up. I will start answering questions now with Julie Berrys that shows on the top of the page. That means here comes my usual apology to those who have to re -post although I did get all the requests posted yesterday and they have been taken care of - thanks to those who helped me there. OK, one last quick thing. I see we reached 55,000 yestrday...........thanks to everyone for liking this page and for putting up with my mood on the blog yesterday. cheers and wish you were here
