Good morning guys. So a wee update on the final goal of team lewis- we have had a wee set back- the Special Care Baby Unit have regrettably said there is not enough space within the unit to dedicate a specific area for children to play; So......... We need to think outside the box and think of ways to help keep the children entertained whilst visiting. I spoke with my eldest and asked his opinion...he suggested portable dvd players so that kids could watch a movie at the cotside...after speaking with the charge nurses at the unit we decided this was a great idea so over the weekend we donated 2, plus two sets of over the ear washable headphones ( for infection control purposes!!) we also donated a bunch of movies we bought...so once again to all those who put money to the just giving page or have done football cards for us...thank you....this is where your cash is going :) The unit have agreed that it is ok to have second hand dvds so my plea is if you have any old dvds your kids no longer watch please donate them for the siblings to watch...I can collect, pay for postage whatever suits....thank you. Also if you have any ideas of ways to keeo the wee ones entertained please share, and if you dont mind could you tell me if you have been in a similiar circumstance as we were, with nothing for kids to do at hospital.
