Good news/Bad news....... Dr Dismukes does not believe Gimpy has cancer.....but....he does believe that Gimpy has a spinal infection, which is literally in the bone. So..we are going to be treating Gimpy with antibiotics to see if that helps his pain any..we hope to see results in about a month or so, after weening him off of prednisone. Because there is not a lot of blood flow to the actual bone, this will most likely be a long antibiotic process, so that it can be in his system and work on any infection in the bone...but..it has to be delivered to the bone, so that is why a longer treatment. Dr Dismukes said it could very possibly be a year long treatment and possibly for life. That is what we know now, and will give you progress updates. Kristie might have more to add. Gimpy is resting in the bedroom on his tempurpedic bed and is happy to be home...his tail is low because if the pain and inflammation, but he still wags it back and forth and gives sweet Gimpy kisses...THANKYOU all for your thoughts and prayers!
