Good news: my thyroid biopsy came back benign. I will see my new endocrine doc regarding this and my reduction in prednisone next week. I am now down to 3 mg. a day. My bruising seems to be diminishing but my pain is increasing, since pred is known for its pain reduction qualities. Good with the bad.... Today I see my dentist since my osteoporosis seems to be impacting my left jaw (it is constantly aching) She is having me use a splint..but so far its not helping very much. Tomorrow I see my rheumatologist for my osteo-arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. Wednesday is the day I am dreading....I have my second (first was 3 yrs. ago when dx with multiple myeloma) bone marrow biopsy. This is by far the worst test I have ever had, and believe me, I have had tons of tests. First they give me a shot into my hip bone to deaden the pain (oh if that was only true) then they insert a medieval instrument to remove a large sliver of bone...then they insert another sharp instrument to remove a sample of my bone marrow. The first time I went in a virgin and came out as if I had been criminally violated. This time I told the doc they will have to give me something to keep me from clawing at the ceiling. She assured me she will give me a pain reduction IV. I hope it works because I really dont want you to hear me scream. Thursday is my appt. with my orthopedist....he will be checking my fractured pelvis. Little by little Im starting to walk again, but still using cane. I just started driving short distances. hopefully he will give me the ok to go back to physical therapy so I can gain back the strength I have lost. And thats my week....it takes a lot to try and keep this 66 year-old body (that acts like its 86) going.
