Good-night everyone, I am sharing a Seminole/Creek Hymn with you entitled Heleluyan. My mother use to sing this song to my sisters and I as she rocked us to sleep. I thought this was awesome that this song was sung in a predominantly Choctaw congregation church in Oklahoma City, OK. My Mother was Seminole and my Dad was Choctaw, I am so proud to share both cultures. I grew up in Eastern Oklahoma until I was about eight or nine years old. We moved to Texas and then back to Oklahoma. First change she got, my Mother took us to the church she grew up in. As a little girl, I remember hearing this song for the first time at Birdcreek Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa, OK. I turned and looked at my Mother and she nodded and smiled at me. I joined in.
