Good weekend for JV Every day is great day for hockey. This friday was even a better one for Jr. Varsity as the team picked up their second win of the season. Trailling 1-0 after the first period the young U18 team of the L.A. Stars realized that they would have a chance to win this game. And it was the top scorer Egor Baranov from a great pass by Milos Popovic who tied the game in the second. Now the team was all pumped up. You could see the fire in their eyes and they were willing to work hard for this second win. Nicolas Bardh picked up a rebound on a shot from Marco Fässler to give the Stars the rare feeling of a lead and Nikita Kamyshev made it even 3-1 in favor of JV half way through the third. 66 saves by goaltender Maxi Wehrhan and a empty net goal from David Zumstein gave the Stars a 4-2 win on a great effort by every player. Two days later the Stars faced a even stronger opponent the team from Klagenfurt. And after 38 seconds the game was decided already. KAC took a 2-0 lead against a JV team that just wasnt ready. But the 2-0 was also a wake up call for the Stars. Starting to work for every puck trying to put pressure on the team from Klagenfurt and getting into shooting lanes kept the game to a 2-0 deficit after 20 mins. It was Sebe Streu with his first goal in his second game for JV to put the Stars on the board. Taking too many penaltys the score after the second period was 6-1 in favor of the team from Klagenfurt. But the JV team never quit and worked realy hard till the last second so the game ended with a 8-2 loss. It was great to see that the team never gave up and kept fighting till the end even you could see that they still were tired from the game on friday. ow.ly/usi32
