Google RISE Awards Offer Funding To Promote K-12 Computer Science. The deadline for the 2014 Google RISE (Roots in Science & Engineering) Awards is Sept. 30. Applications are open to broad-reaching organizations worldwide that promote K-12 computer science education to encourage students to become creators, rather than just consumers, of technological innovations. Recipients are selected based on their focus on underrepresented minorities. Organizations are chosen based on their focus on underrepresented minorities in the field and position as changemakers in their respective countries for Computer Science at the K-12/Pre-University level.
