Gordon update time again - Gord has a tumor where his kidney used to be. It has grown so that it is on his colon causing the bleed. When the pressure builds he starts bleeding and when it lets up it will scab over and stop bleeding. Then it starts all over again. He has to have surgery but it cant be done locally. We were all set to be transported to Upstate but at the last minute we were told there were no beds available. Plan B was to keep checking his numbers and if they stayed up he would come home tomorrow and we would have to followup on our own. Then the oncologist came in and said not a good idea and he was going to advise the doctors to keep him until Upstate has a bed. They didnt have to worry either way, his blood count this morning was 7.3 so he is being transfused as I write this. This will probably change whatever plan they decided on yesterday. What a ride... His sisters are flying in today and will stay with me until Wednesday. One is coming in from Florida, the other one from Texas. If he does get transferred we will probably stay at the Crowne Hotel in Syracuse as they have a very good discount plan for families of patients. I will try to keep everybody up to date but by last night I couldnt remember who I talked to and who I missed. Thank you all for caring and please keep praying.
