Gorkha Tea Estate is a private firm located in the hills of Eastern Nepal,Sundarpani,Fikkal Ilam. The production capacity of the factory is 150,000 tons. It is currently producing 70 tons only due to shortage of quality tea leaves.Major Exports are Germany and Kolkatta. Gorkha Tea Estate is located 1700 above sea level and 30 hectare land belongs to GTE and rest to farmers. Gorkha Tea Estate(GTE) adjoining to Darjeeling, India is only one IMO (Switzerland) EU ,JAS (Japan),ISO22000 organic certified tea factory in Nepal.IMO one of the tough certifying agency deserve market value.GTE is paying highest prices to its farmers for their green leaves, not only that GTE has also technical team to support farmers around the year, distributing Cows, Biogas, Crete, Green leaf carrying Bags, Drums, Spray machines, compost trainings to its organic farmers. GTE is encouraging farmers to produce high quality tea, by giving the best price of their products and also developed HOME STAY at farmer house under “Tea and Tourism”.
