Got a message in one of my posts from my oldest son bout how im nvr home. Makes me realize how at times without realizing and assuming all is good but in reality it isnt. I will make time for my boy and the rest of my family and friends. Im glad he messaged me to let me know he needs me like I need my dad. My job is important yes but I was taught ur family first. I love what I do for OCC and will continue to fight wit honor and respect. Its given me an understanding that balance has to be maintained and I will ask the creator for this strength to carry on. We as leaders are human like everyone else only difference being is that we have the responsibility of a whole community on our shoulders. In ceremonies its been said we must go back to our roots my understanding of that is to reclaim our genuine concern for one another. Its been mistaken that we go back to living in tipis and so forth thats not such. We need to understand and embrace our identity as true anishinabe. Im not saying this is rite however its what I believe and come to understand and respect. Jus some thoughts Id share from my heart!...AHO!!
