Got another fishing story for you. Up by Gold Hill Or, there is a diversion dam that doesnt get used anymore. Their is a little island right below it that has a bomb ass salmon hole. Thing is, you arent supposed to fish there. But me and my fishing buddys Randy and Craig went fishing there because it was so good. We had a rope tied off to the west bank of the river and the island. You could use an inflatable raft to get to the island and pull yourself back across on the rope. So we are over there fishing away and I had hooked 7 fish in 45 minutes and landed 2 by the time the Stater in the pickup pulled up on the east side of the river and started yelling at us. We really couldnt hear him, but we started to head for the raft and he jumped in his pickup and hauled ass downriver. He had to go down to Gold Hill and come up the west side. He got to the parking lot about the same time we did and intercepted us. So now we are talking to an OSP SGT. who wants to know why we think were special. We just played dumb and he mellowed out. Enough so that while he was talking to us and he had seen me pull a Marlboro red out of one of my shirt pockets, he reached up to my pocket and grabbed one. Hahahaha Yeah no shit, as he did it, he dropped a couple quarters in my pocket and lifts the box top with the back of his fingers and reached in and got one out!! All the while he was saying I cant actually ask you for one, but I can buy one with a smile. All good but let me ask you this? You ever carry skunk bud joints in with your reds before? You know how your unlit red takes a skunk bud nuance? Yeah I had about 3 joints left in this box and about 2 cigarettes and what are the odds the cop comes out with a cig? I dont know because I aint a math wiz but that was pretty lucky. He lit that cigarette and smoked it without a blink while he wrote us tickets for fishing in a closed stream. When we went to court, the Judge was all pissed because every other year they change the rules about where you can fish and he couldnt even keep it straight and so he let us off easy! Sometimes your golden man, thats all Ive got to say.
