Got home from our Sturgis trip yesterday. Wow,,,what a whirlwind. Fabulous ride both ways. Really good looking guys in South Dakota. And then they open their mouths!!! Just kidding (kind of). Nice people all around. Cabin at the KOA in Hill City was awesome. Highly recommend it. Great family place with lots of stuff for kids. Bike started making an awful grinding noise. Thought it was a bad back wheel bearing, Had to get towed to Honda dealer in Spearfish. Turned out to be a bad chain. Had 4 hours to walk around the dealership. Almost bought a new 2014 Yamaha 950 but didnt like the color. Guess South Dakota is the best place to buy a new bike. Sales rep at the Harley store said he sold 500 bikes within the last month. Anyhow, left the dealership and ran into huge rain, thunder and hail storm. There were hundreds of bikes stopped, turned off and sitting in the middle of the lanes on the highway waiting for the hail to melt. It was crazy. Rode through about a mile of ice on the road. Made it back to the cabin safely though wet and tired. Stopped in Nebraska and spent a couple of days with family on the way back. All in all it was a good trip. Everyone needs to make the trip at least once in their lives. One of our cabin mates has gone every year for the past 27 years. Wow...thats dedication. Thats all folks. Good to be home.
