******Got to love this******* Well worth the wait new updates bio get a read people :) x x LOKI Biography Hardstyle DJ and Producer Loki has become one of Scotlands finest steadily rising harder generation talents of recent years. With a taste for white hot hard beats in the studio and a love for causing havoc upon the decks, this now heavily booked and widely released future star has been studying and developing a love for music since as early as 1998. Originally first getting a taste for dance music with an introduction to house, Lokis earlier efforts in the backwaters of a high rise flat in a run down estate meant he would save and strive to achieve a set of Technics turntables and as many records as he could afford to get his hands on at the time. Learning his trade from Q.F.X band member and Mixmag and M8 supported star Trixter; Loki had started pursuing a dream, one that had meant the World to him and one that would often mean he would face some tough and often disheartening criticism from friends and family. Despite such oppositions though, he would only feel more determined, more inspired to succeed and set about putting together a series of mixes, which often brought about inspiration and motivation in others around this soon to be breakthrough star. Through continual effort and determination and with the help of such close friends and confidantes as Trevor Reilly and Ricky Magowen; opportunities would arise for Loki to play sets around the Dunfermline area at venues such as Life, building a reputation for being a DJ with exceptional technical ability, a real party starter and a new face on the block to keep a look out for. This reputation would travel with him in and around Scotland and even as far as Tenerife where he played a residency for a short while during his stay there. Later moving to Glasgow, Loki further spread his wings and evolved his sound into more of a trance direction, which at the time was really taking him forward in terms of musical passions. He also played a few slots in Turkey during the peak of season there before returning to play the mighty Coloursfest and as time raged on Loki had swiftly moved up the ranks from playing smaller club nights to bigger arenas such as the Carling Academy. Realisation soon set in that something that had only previously been a back bedroom dream, knocking a few sets together for his friends, had now turned into a magical main stage reality, entertaining crowds in their thousands on a weekly basis. After a few years of such successes on the club circuit and after now learning to love and appreciate a mass of styles such as hard house, hard trance, club classics and even scouse house, Loki discovered a darker, more bass driven and underground genre which he instantly fell in love with, Hardstyle. Having something about it that really spoke to him, and embracing all that is brilliant about Lokis up for it, energetic and outgoing style, Lokis tastes evolved further and soon after his passion for both making and playing hardstyle became unrelenting. Such a new found passion would see him comfortably moving his way over to Scotlands now thriving hard style scene, becoming just as in demand there as he had been in previous club circles. Colours by this point were already onto giving him his second Colours Summer Festival booking and anyone whos anyone in Scottish raving circles knows that Colours truly are at the top of the game when it comes to seriously well attended events. Sporting a kilt after heading straight from his Sisters wedding to the event, Loki played an explosive set in the Back To The Future room, one that was given great praise and feedback from Promoters and ravers alike and secured him many repeat bookings from the team there for some years after. Of course, this is just one of many, many highlights of Lokis career in clubland. During his time as a DJ, Loki has had the honour of playing for such well reputed brands and clubs as Coloursfest (his 7th time of asking), Fantazia (four years in a row), Fantasy Lands (a fair few times), Yellow, Frequency, Pandemonium, Contact, The Fast Modified Road Show, Twisted & Brainfire, Luminous, Audio, Scope, Infexious, XFest, Vision, Room At The Top, Carnage (resident for five years) and Slinky to name but a few including, an epic and long standing residency with the mighty Back To The Future which included a well publicised tour of venues in Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Kilmarnock and Dunfermline in 2007. This has afforded him the opportunity to play upon the stages of many reputable venues such as the aforementioned Carling Academy, Braehead Arena, Bobby Jones, Baker Street, Ice (resident, four years running) Volts and The Hub (resident three years in a row), sharing stages with such mighty titans as Armin Van Buuren, Kutski, Trixter, Cally & Juice, Showtek, Noisecontrollers, Paul Van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell, Mark Sherry, Organ Donors, Angerfist Scorpio, Ferry Corsten, Wasted Penguinz, Tatanka and many, many more. Loki is also a talented producer, in College he received a B grade for sound production and in 2012 was signed to the infamous Bass Generator record label. His first release, a collaboration with Worldwide harder style hero Joey Riot featuring Ellie scored him a top 2 position in the Track It Down charts. Later stepping up his production game, Loki found himself signed to the biggest hardstyle label and event brand in the UK, Bionic and released an EP which smashed the digital charts and became popular for its louder, harder and energetic approach to the genre. However, this would be just the tip of the iceberg though, presently, Loki has thirteen tracks under his production belt, with eight now released, four bootlegs doing the rounds and one just on its way to signing and with labels such as Bionic and Absolute Digital on his side, its no wonder that some of the Worlds biggest and best artists are supporting his production work in their sets globally. 2014 is in full swing and with it so does Lokis rise and rise, already onto his next set of thrilling hardstyle productions and with his diary already filling up for the coming months of the year for some of the largest and most reputable parties in the game; the dedicated and unrelenting focus of one lad from Scotland has truly paid off, a true example of getting out what you put in and his enthusiasm, love and reputation grows, so do his followers and supporters, all eagerly awaiting him to reak more crazy bass throbbing and electrifying havoc across the World, Loki style.
