Got to our room about 5 this morning. Noah hasnt stirred- he even - TopicsExpress

Got to our room about 5 this morning. Noah hasnt stirred- he even slept through the nurses taking blood from his arm! The doctor here has known Noah since he was an infant and she is fully on board with getting him home ASAP. Shes off duty as after today but I trust that shell be able to communicate this to the new attending. The plan is to get him some blood and plasma with the intent of stopping his bleeding. His g-tube has been draining frank blood for hours now on top of what is welling out of his stomach around the tube, so we need to get that stopped. The second order of business is to identify the bacteria in his bloodstream (take a couple of days) and be sure hes on the best possible antibiotics. At that point she said we could choose to take him home rather than waiting until we get negative cultures. Im thankful for doctors and nurses who really know Noah and support the choices we are trying to make. If Noahs bleeding hadnt been so worrisome yesterday, this entire cascade of events wouldnt have transpired and wed be threatening at home rather than sitting in a hospital room. I trust the providence of our good God and am comforted knowing this particular path was directed by Him in spite of what Jeff and I would have chosen on our own. This is clearly the right place for Noah right now and as soon as home becomes the right place, well get him there!
