Got to spend a little quality time with Reilly this morning, and nearly cried when he hobbled over to me all the way from the doorway. He flopped down and I pet him while telling him all of the messages you guys have been sending, and all of the wonderful donations and auction items and prayers and well-wishes youve sent in for him. I had to go have a good cry in the parking lot before I went home, Im just so overwhelmed and so very, very thankful to all of you that have made this miraculous recovery possible. He sends a gentle kiss and a big Fank you, guyz! for all your love and support! Hes got the three drains in, and some staples in the big wound under his right front arm. They had just finished cleaning his wounds when I dropped by after work, so he was getting a little tired and a lot oozy, but I didnt care - I was just so grateful to see those halting steps and that big huff that translates to Ok, you can adore me now. Hes still on the pain medication through the IV, which theyre going to try and wean him off of today in hopes that hell get hungry. I tried to get him to eat some, but he was more interested in sleep, and I cant blame him - hes been through an awful lot, but hes got your love and support to buoy his spirits. Now our big concern is infection and making sure everything heals up as it should - hes still on antibiotics through his IV, but if hell start eating, they can put him on antibiotic pills instead. So Blizzard Dreams and Bacon Kisses from Reilly and all of us here in the Bacon Brigade to all of you amazing, wonderful people - its so good to cry tears of joy instead of tears of despair, and such a very, very great honor to be part of this incredible Corgi Nation!
