KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design electro mechanical products, taking projects from initial marketing brief through to production. Drive 3D CAD system Solidworks. Produce 2D drawings to BS EN 8888. Follow office systems / best practice. Liaise with internal departments to ensure designs meet their needs. Liaise with external suppliers to ensure designs can be produced in an economic and practical manner. Evaluate new designs using prototypes, FMEA, DFMA, FEA &CFD. Validate new designs through product testing. Develop new products to comply with international standards including CE and UL. Support engineering change requirements. Manage multiple projects. Support junior designers.KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 710 years experience of developing and launching products in a manufacturing environment. Degree or in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 3D &2D CAD Solidworks. MS Office. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques: injection moulding, metal fabrication. Knowledge of relevant technologies: electronics / motors. Knowledge of engineering principles: static mechanics / fluid mechanics / acoustics.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Enthusiastic. Team player. Excellent communication skills. Able to prioritise own work load and work without supervision.RENUMERATION Competitive salary and benefits.
