Gotta share... I contacted Asus tech support via chat this - TopicsExpress

Gotta share... I contacted Asus tech support via chat this evening, expecting to order a recovery disk as running the recovery from repair mode DOS was getting hung up needing drivers. I filled out the form for a new case, then entered that case number in a chat. The support person I connected with asked for a few minutes to read my problem description (which was rather lengthy, as I listed all that Ive tried thus far so I wouldnt be put through those paces again, knowing I probably would be anyway, because no one actually thoroughly reads). Well, this time the support tech did. When he/she (not sure) next responded, it was clear that my problem description had been genuinely read. Windows Recovery is now in progress (on this BIOS, F9 brings up a recovery mode that F8 doesnt). I gave the thumbs up on the rate this service and filled out the survey form. I commented I am impressed with support for a device well beyond the warranty period. Andrae V. was the chat support technician I communicated with. Andrae V. was friendly and efficient and it was clear Andrae V. read my problem description thoroughly, which is rather refreshing. That was conducive to efficient use of both of our time. That is appreciated. I was an HP dealer for many years. This is my first Asus purchase. That kind of support will insure its not the last. Thanks. Granted, since I was already resigned to reinstalling Windows, that does help cut to the chase. Nonetheless, good support for a machine a couple years out of warranty.
