Gough Whiltlam once said "Joe de Bruyn is a Dutchman who hates dykes." The SDA is the largest union in Australia, and Mr. De Bruyn, the National President, uses it as a political tool to push his own conservative agenda, against the majority of his members views. A vote was held in the Senate today, Senator Conroy, Don Farrell and Jacinta Collins amongst them. All good god bothers, but Sen Farrell and Sen Collins both held high up positions in the SDA before politics. I cry foul on undue political influence from Mr. de Bruyn, abusing his position and in this case, not representing members interests. I will have to try and track down the campaign contributions from the SDA to these Senators.
