A dependable source that contacted Ebonyi 2015 interactive forum yesterday confirmed that the governor has no preferred candidate to fly the PDP flag for the general election come 2015. However, the source made it clear that the governor wishes to have a southerner take over from him at the expiration of his tenure next year. The revelation was against the backdrop in some quarters that have already started laying claims to the number one citizen of the state before the election. Ugo Zion, a strong member of the a group know as champions for good governance and democratic change, told Ebonyi 2015 interactive forum in a telephone chart that the governor is being economical with the truth as it concerns the choice of candidate for the guber polls. He buttressed the fact that Gov. Elechi had earlier in a meeting held around December last year picked his supposed successor. The alleged successor who was widely rejected on the account of his questionable credibility, may have made the governor change his mind on his decision, knowing fully well that fielding such a successor will lead to shaking PDP to its foundation by the rival APC during the election.
