Government Motors, or GM still owes you BIG TIME. So…. I had an idea; Approximately 134,372,678 individual tax returns were filed last year. Of those filed, 99,880,223 actually paid taxes. Since 20%, or only 19,976,044 Americans pay well over 80% of the tax burden, for the remaining 296,334,956 US residents as of 2010, I believe we should offer them the following; A new car!!! So let me do the math… We’re still owed $18,100,000,000. And, in order for us to get paid back through the stock deal Obama cut with the Union led company, GM stock would have to sell for $95.51 a share, or THREE times what it is currently selling for. The US Treasury Special Inspector General Christy Romero told Congress, we’re going to lose a lot of money!!! So if I take $18,100,000,000 and divide this number by 19,976,044 taxpayers, that comes out to…, wait, that can’t be right… $906.00 per tax payer. Dang it. We’re screwed. Well, the good news is that billionaire Kirk Kerkorian (The Vegas King) was able to protect his 9.9% stake in GM which was underwater by about $350 million before the bailout. FYI, in fairness, while Kerkorian donated heavily for Obama, he normally appears to donate equally to both parties.
