Government has confirmed that LRA’s Dominic Ongwen shall be tried at the International criminal court of justice soon to answer charges of the several heinous crimes he committed across the region while in combat. The state minister for |foreign affairs Okello Oryem has been telling the press while at the state run media center that the warlord Dominic Ogwen is currently detained in Central Africa republic awaiting interrogation and shall in the due course be handed over to the ICC for prosecution as directed by President Yoweri Museveni. He has explained that the Ugandans courts were ready to prosecute him but because he committed atrocities beyond Uganda, Sudan, DR Cong it would be insufficient for the local courts to prosecute him. However the decision by president to prosecute Dominic ongwen at the ICC a court which Museveni has openly described as oppressive and insufficient to solve African problems raises a lot f questions marks. However foreign affairs state minister Okello oryem has explained that the president has only castigated and disagreed with the ICC on matter of prosecuting sitting Africa presidents but he is well with its operations at large.
