Government mandates - Health insurance mandates, Social Security, Medicare... All of these are examples of government forcing everyone into a program whether they like it or not. Money is seized from a persons paycheck before they even see it in the cases of Social Security and Medicare. People are now forced to buy health insurance or face penalties from the IRS. Choice is the issue here. If these programs were voluntary and people could choose to have nothing to do with them and keep their money, these would not be such a problem. Choice is key to personal liberty, and so people must be given the right to choose whether or not to participate.
