Government releases $11m for special voting 08/07/2013 By zimbabweelection Leave a Comment Government has released US$11 million to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission for special voting set for July 14 and 15. Special voting, done at least 16 days before the ordinary polling day, allows people who will be on elections duty to cast their ballot in advance. Addressing journalists in Harare this morning, Zec chairperson Justice Rita Makarau also said the 30 day voter registration and voters roll inspection that started last month ends tomorrow. “The voters roll closes on Wednesday and any persons who register after that will not be able to elect incoming candidates at all levels. They will remain on the voters roll but for future purposes,” she said.
