Government schools have become an expensive scam in so many places. Can you imagine the outcry from the state worshipers if private schools sent graduates on to college who could only read at the 7th-grade level? Because this problem is in the government schools, you wont hear a peep from them, let alone a sensible solution. To them, its more important that government be in charge of education than that children should actually get one. For an often lousy job, government schools spend two or three or more times as much per student as their private counterparts. Moreover, they dont charge just the parents, they charge EVERYBODY, and not just for the years your kids are there, but for EVERYBODYS ENTIRE WORKING LIFE. On top of that, colleges and private businesses are spending billions on remedial education to bring students up to speed, which means that government education is even more expensive than you imagined.
