Governor T.A. Orji building legacy through infrastructural development in Abia State Governor T.A Orji unlike other Governors met dilapidated or non existing infrastructures in Abia State. Clearly, since the creation of Abia State, the previous governments obviously didn’t consider it wise to build foundation that will enhance socio-economic development in Abia State. Previous Governments didn’t make any attempt at constructing Secretariat complexes as Abia Workers are scattered all over in make shifts or rented flats around Umuahia. However, Governor T.A. Orji having felt the pains of operating from a makeshift office as a civil servant in Abia State and knowing the negative implications, embarked on a mission to build a two edifice Abia State worker’s secretariat in October 2011 and in addition, rehabilitating the old federal secretariat. WORKERS CENTRE It is pertinent to state that here the new secretariat complex buildings by Governor T.A. Orji are the first public buildings with elevator systems and disable access. The buildings are not just new but modern. The New Abia State Workers Secretariat twin complex is just one out of the Governor’s legacy projects in Abia State. There are many other people’s orientated projects embarked upon by the Governor like the New Government House ongoing, the New e-library ongoing, The Judiciary Complex completed , the New Industrial and Allied Timber Market completed, the New Umuahia Main Market completed, The Dialysis Centre Umuahia completed, the new specialist and diagnostic centre umuahia and Abia completed, About 250 functioning Primary Health Care Centres, Eighteen, 100 beds Gen Hospitals ongoing, The New Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State complex completed and awaiting commissioning, the new 6 court rooms High Court in Umuahia completed and awaiting commissioning, the new High court Aba ongoing, the new 9000 capacity International Conference Centre Umuahia, almost completed, the New ASEPA complex, completed and commissioned, the new Abia State skill acquisition centre, completed, the New ASUBEB complex ongoing, the New JAAC and Ndi Eze Complex ongoing, the new legislative administrative complex, almost completed; irebuilding of schools and many more. All of these and many others are in line with his administration’s transformation agenda and in keeping with his promise of fast tracking the development in Abia State, the Abia State government under Chief TA Orji has continue to embark on development projects across all sectors of the state’s economy and at the same, safeguarding lives and property. In Abia State, we say seeing is believing!
