Governorship debate: Aregbesola, Omisore, Akinbade absent The PDP, APC and LP candidates, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola failed to show up the debate organised by the Osun council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in collaboration with broadcasting stations in the state. The trio were among the six candidates short listed for the debate by the NUJ. In his address, the state NUJ chairman, Mr Biodun Olalere, who gave reasons for their absence, said “we received messages from candidates of the Labour Party, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade and the PDP, Senator Iyiola Omisore excusing themselves from the programme due to other political engagements.” The governor, who was to join the debate, also failed to show up
