Govt believes in independent, vibrant media: PM ISLAMABAD, Jun 20 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said the government believes in an independent and vibrant media which should actively play its role for the promotion of national cohesion and good governance. The Prime Minister was talking to Najam Sethi, a veteran journalist and former caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, who called on him here at the PM Office. Najam Sethi felicitated the Prime Minister on assuming the office of chief executive of the country. The Prime Minister appreciated Najam Sethi’s role in the caretaker administration in holding of free, fair and transparent elections in Punjab. “Pakistan has achieved a democratic milestone by successfully effecting smooth transition of power from one civilian government to another”, said the Prime Minister.
