“Grab a pen and some paper, Poet,” she said one windy, winter’s night. I wrote as quickly as I could to compile all of the ideas spilling forth from Sarahs mind. We organized documents into individual scenes for months in the midst of tumultuous change, a winter that would not relent, and many other eye-opening, consciousness-expanding experiences. Masks, lights, costumes and prisms: Gather! Finally, the day had come. It was my first experience as an assistant director. Time just disappeared into a surreal and beautiful moment that will dwell with me for all my days. I remember the gentleness and wonderful sense of humor in talented director, Heyrick Chassé. It was an incredible honor to work beside him. I learned so much just being in his presence. With several helping hands (including Director of Badassery, Anne Cavallaro) and the wonderful spirit, talent and beauty of all the sparkle beings we filmed, something incredibly wondrous came together. It was an experience that inspired me to dive into the realm of video editing and learn all I possibly can. Here is a behind-the-scenes sneak peak of what transpired that day. More soon!
