Grace Can’t Be Earned - There are numerous reasons why God’s grace can’t be earned. If Grace could be earned, then: 1) The cross would have been in vain 2) Salvation would have been meaningless, or at best, a tool for the WEAK (who couldn’t earn it themselves) to escape damnation 3) Our good works would have been able to cancel our sins 4) It wouldn’t have mattered if Adam ate of that fruit or not, because we would have been able to “fix” ourselves 5) We would have been required to keep a score card of everything we do 6) There would have been much fighting over how many credits certain good works earned us 7) There would have been much arguing over how many “good” credits were cancelled when we did certain sins 8) Millions of people would have emotionally collapsed under the pressure of being responsible for their own salvation 9) There would not have been a single moment of relaxation, because our minds would be busy thinking about how we could earn more “credits”, and also about how many credits we were losing right at that moment for NOT doing all the good that is within our ability (yes that is sin too!) grace cant be earned That’s why God, in His infinite wisdom, knew He had to make Grace available to all… FOR FREE!
