Grace and Peace be with you today! Nov 7, 2013 What a week! • Local mission work right here in UIF Church culminated in $4000.00 for the local Faith In Action group! Praise be to God! There was an excellent turn-out of folks who generously opened their wallets to help all of our neighbors here in the Pana area. The mission statement for Faith in Action, “A Neighbor’s Independence Depends on You,” was taken seriously, as evidenced by the wonderful response of the Pana community. Thanks be to God for UIF Church opening its facility for this project! • Our Sunday All Saints’ Day worship service was well attended, with many friends and family members present to light candles in honor and remembrance of their loved ones. Several more saints were named and remembered at that time, too. May the peace of God comfort all those whose beloved ones have found their way to their eternal home. Amen • Local “Trick or Treaters” found nothing but treats here at UIF Church on Thursday night. They found a shelter from the rains…candy, candy, candy…and food! Thanks to everyone who helped to make this event happen. And the excitement continues this week! • The kitchen is humming with laughter and busy cooks for the German Sausage Supper! See you on Saturday: 4:30- 7:00 for excellent food and fellowship. • The choirs are ringing and singing. • The Bible studies fill us with God’s good words- every Thursday morning and at Women’s Fellowship on the first Thursday afternoon of every month. • The quilters are crafting blankets. • The Youth are having all kinds of fun! • Sunday school for all ages meets at 9:00 every Sunday morning. • Worship is where we come to give glory and praise to God! There are so many things to do here at the church. Invite a friend. Bring a family member. It’s more fun when we go with friends- anywhere. Statistically speaking, churches grow and flourish when the members bring folks into the community of faith because those visitors don’t feel like strangers. Find a place to get hooked-in here at UIF Church. “Take courage, be strong!” In worship this coming Sunday, we will focus on Haggai 1:15 - 2:9 and Paul’s message in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17 where we hear that, “God has chosen YOU, and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word.” Additional reminders: • There is a Congregational meeting immediately after worship this Sunday. Because of this, there will be NO Fellowship coffee following the worship service. However, there will probably be German Dinner leftovers that will be available for purchase…check it out in the kitchen after the meeting.
